I know that not many people will see this but this is one of the biggest problems in the world today, not fake news but straight propaganda from the CIA. They are so ingrained in the news delivery system that any news that relates to almost anything can and is often written or guided by the CIA. It is not just in the states that the problem is, even though they are (except maybe north Korea) possibly the most misinformed (brainwashed) people in the world. The scary thing is that they are spending over 50% of their budget on their military and can justify anything to their brainwashed population, even war in Europe.Believe it or not they use a term "American exceptionalism " to refer to their population to remind everyone in America that they are bettor than every other race or nationality in the world. To me it means more war criminals and profiteers than any other country on the face of the earth. They really believe that they are the "exceptional people" ( better than you and me). Have you ever heard such crap? Well yes I have in the 1930s in Germany and their are many parallels. The bottom line is take everything with a grain of salt and the mainstream media is generally never to be trusted with an unbiased story.
The great advances that have been made in communication using the internet are being fought tooth and nail by the corporations and the establishment. No one is bettor that Jimmy here at relaying the news from America with a load of wit and more accuracy than any mainstream news channel can muster.
This is a great short video about the history of race in the US. The amount of history that goes into the problems of race in America today is massively understated and, unfortunately, generally unknown to the general population. Much of it was unknown to me as well even though it has been of interest to me over the years. It is hard for New Zealanders to have an understanding of this because we relate it to our own experiences which are nothing like the black Americans have had to endure. We don't lock up our own people for 20, 30 or 50 years for next to nothing. We don't have the militarized police that are armed and ready to shoot in an instant (if your black). I used to joke that in America I just hide out in the open and being a white man I will never be questioned or even if I am it will be very friendly, not the normal black experience.I lived in the States and Canada for many years and really loved it but I was always given the benefit of a doubt because I was white and sounded like Crocodile Dundee to them.Several times I may have been arrested except that my whiteness and accent stepped in and saved me.
Sad to say but Jimmy here really nails it with this short commentary. There is a two party system in this country and it is fully developing in New Zealand as well. What I mean is that there are two different ways of treating people depending on which party you belong to. The parties are not what you may think, one is the party of the 10% who are never guilty and always given the benefit of a doubt , the other is the party of the 90%. The difference is the way that they are treated by law authorities, the media, the courts, the schools, and anything else that you care to mention. It is a good video and well worth giving it 5 mins of your time.
I picked this video up when I was checking out Fukushima news, not really much about Fukushima (if anything) but it really does say a lot about what the life on the street is like in the non famous parts of L.A. The fellow talking has some interesting comments and explanation for what you see and when it all started. It is short and well worth the watch if interested in how other people live in a major U.S. city.
With National in right now this will be coming to a street near you in the future. It didn't happen over night but crept up on the population and like he said "when they came for..." This can also mean in an economic sense they came for me. Right now they have come for the unemployed and those on ACC, who will be next as they use their economic hit-men to take our economic freedoms away.
John does a great job here exposing the aggression of the major world powers and how it is presented in the press/TV news. I must say that what he talks about reflects how I feel and think about world affairs. It sure is nice to see someone of standing speaking truth to power, and to see my own views reflected. The only new information here for me was the news that the US has unseated nearly 50 govts and counting. I thought it was more like 20 govts unseated /overthrown by the "good guys". The one thing about this speech is that it would not be spoken in America and if it was it would be ridiculed if not called Soviet or Chinese propaganda.
I would of thought that google was above this but the old saying from Lord Acton " Power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely" has never been truer. They used to be a company that was on the right side of the fight for honesty and anti-corruption in society but they have succumbed to the power and the greed like everyone else. The real problem is that individual people have the greed bug and even though they have more money than god they never have enough money and/or power.
This has shaken my belief in google and has dropped my opinion of them in a large, negative way.Why did the rich dicks at the top see that this was the right thing to do? Straight greed is the only thing that I can think of. Anyway watch the video and make up your own mind, it is just another piece of the proof of the most corrupt country in the world, not happy with interfering in other countries elections they have to corrupt their own as well.(not the first time)
This is one of the best graphs along with one of the most informative and ,in my opinion ,most accurate depictions of the way that the American system works (or doesn't). The show that is putting out this video (not the people who made it)is called the Jimmy Dore Show and it's a really great show if you like politics with a dash of humor.Jimmy is a stand up comedian who does tours in the US and he also makes an appearance on the young Turks every week as a panel member.
The commentary that goes along with this video is well worth listening to as Jimmy, although a comedian, has a very realistic view of the political landscape. He certainly can't be accused of being a 7 figure liberal, which is a new term for me, that refers to many of the political pundents on mainstream tv who are so called liberals. For instance half the commentators at MSNBC and almost any one else on who has a liberal(?) lean.
This is a great interview of Noam Chomsky that brings up several major things that I have always had trouble with when it comes to America. While undoubtedly a great country, it is not for the reasons that those on the far right spout on a regular basis. The great people of America should listen to the reason that this person talks, it is what the rest of the world tends to think about the USA regardless of what the nutters with a loud voice shout. This is not anti American to say but is , in my mind , the American thing to say. The way that the majority of the people think as opposed to how the rulers act is telling.
I came across this in my travels on the internet today and for the sake of anyone who is interested in the difference between single payer healthcare systems and private systems watching can be enlightening. I feel quite strongly about this having experienced the New Zealand version of single payer and after four surgeries feeling that it is pretty good. If I had had any of the problems that I experienced in the USA I would not have been seen any sooner and it is doubtful that the outcomes would be any bettor. (They have been very good here for me.) I know that there is and has always been a bit of a dogfight over how useless the Canadian system is compared with the American but having lived in Canada for several years and having to visit hospital only once found it to be very good. The same in the US except that if you have insurance that covers your condition and the insurance company excepts your claim then your health care can be very good. One of the major problems is the medical induced bankruptcy for Americans (single biggest reason for personal bankruptcies in USA). Another is the wait times in America, when your insurance company denies you and you have to chase them up in court or however you deal with it. Several years ago an Insurance company (forgot the name of) had a policy of deny all claims when they first come in, You could appeal and complain but this is not what anyone would call a good idea having health decisions made taking into consideration the profits and losses of private company's that could not care less about your health.
